    A major airfield safety project has been completed at Queenstown Airport - within schedule, and on budget


    An engineered materials arresting system has been installed, designed to slow aircraft to a safe stop - if one ever overshoots the runway.

    It's the first of its kind in Australasia.

    Airport Chair Simon Flood says the 23-million-dollar project is a significant investment in risk mitigation.
