Fertiliser co-operative Ballance say they are beginning to produce their own fertiliser

Fertiliser co-operative Ballance say they are beginning to produce their own fertiliser

Currently only around 30 percent of fertiliser is produced locally.

This comes off the back of farmers facing price increases of up to $365 a tonne.

Ballance Sales Manager Jason Minkhorst says increasing fertiliser production takes time.

He says they are also trying to de-carbonise the production footprint.
