    Fonterra's net profit is expected to fall by hundreds-of-millions of dollars this year

    Forsyth Barr estimates net profit for the year to June will be 396-million dollars ... almost half that of the previous year.

    Mo Singh, from Craigs Investment Partners, says the dairy company has faced tough competition offshore.

    He says increased supply from the US and European markets is putting pressure on Fonterra's margin.

    The company will announce its annual result on Thursday.
