    How Mycoplasma bovis arrived on our shores could remain a mystery


    The Ministry for Primary Industries, DairyNZ and Beef and Lamb New Zealand last week released a new national plan for the cattle disease.

    It sets out three goals - and establishes seven key measures of the progression towards eradication.

    MPI's M bovis programme director, Geoff Gwyn, says it would've been nice to know how it got here, but that's not the important issue.

    He they'll continue to look into it won't - but it won't be the focus of their efforts.
