Coach Mark Sorensen is pleading for more international competition following the Black Sox' worst ever result at a World Cup

Coach Mark Sorensen is pleading for more international competition following the Black Sox' worst ever result at a World Cup

New Zealand - who finished a lowly eighth - had been forced to simulate high intensity matches leading into the tournament after three and a half years without international competition.

Sorensen says they need more regular fixtures in between World Cups to improve.

Sorenson himself won't comment on his own future pending the outcome of a review into the campaign expected before Christmas.
