A thrilling finish to the national women's road race cycling championships

A thrilling finish to the national women's road race cycling championships

19-year-old Niamh Fisher-Black has won, after she and a chasing pack reeled in leader Kate McCarthy who couldn't hold on inside the closing kilometres.

McCarthy says she was getting splits of how far ahead she was, but realised she wasn't going to be able to hold off the chasers.

Fisher-Black also wins the under-23 crown.

    The men's race is underway.
