    Cyclist Shane Archbold is 44th after the opening stage of the Tour of Turkey


    The race marked the peloton return of Archbold's Deceuninck Quickstep team mate Fabio Jakobsen .

    It comes eight months after numerous facial reconstruction surgeries following his life-threatening crash on a sprint at the Tour of Poland.

    Jakobsen finished in 147th place.
