    Two-time grand tour winner Simon Yates has announced his retirement from cycling with immediate effect


    The 33 year old's decision has come as a shock - after winning the Giro d'Italia last year, as well as a third career stage win at the Tour de France.

    The Englishman says he's been considering retirement for a long time, and now feel likes the right moment to step away from the sport.
