The Hawke's Bay Regional Council says staff are monitoring weather conditions and are prepared to take action, if needed

The Hawke's Bay Regional Council says staff are monitoring weather conditions and are prepared to take action, if needed

MetService orange heavy rain warnings cover the Wairoa District, Gisborne, and Hastings north of Napier, until tomorrow morning.

Wairoa could face up to 250 millimetres of rain.

The Regional Council says teams are ready to get to work if required, including potentially opening smaller river mouths in the Wairoa area, to help with water flow.

They say the Wairoa River mouth is open, and working well at the moment. 12-26-24 1144
