A Wellington City Councillor's had to apologise after calling two colleagues racist

A Wellington City Councillor's had to apologise after calling two colleagues racist

Late last year Councillors Ray Chung and Tony Randle voted against a move for the council to submit against ACT's controversial Treaty Principles Bill.

That caused Labour Councillor Teri O'Neill to label their vote as nothing less than racist.

Chung then threatened to sue O'Neill for defamation.

In yesterday's Long Term Plan meeting, she said she was sorry.

Chung and Randle said while they were hurt and shocked by the remark, they fully accept her apology.
