Mayor Jim Boult supports a Government plan to help Queenstown wean itself off tourist dollars

Mayor Jim Boult supports a Government plan to help Queenstown wean itself off tourist dollars

Tourism Minister Stuart Nash has unveiled a 200 million dollar recovery plan at the TRENZ Hui in Christchurch.

It includes a 20 million fund to help Queenstown and Wanaka diversify into other business.

Boult says it's a fair call, as they never want to go through a tourist downturn like this again.

He say they're almost totally dependent on tourism.
