Auckland's Mayor is concerned about increasing gun violence in the city

Auckland's Mayor is concerned about increasing gun violence in the city

In the past week, a 23-year-old was shot and killed in a Mt Roskill home, and a man was found dead after gun shots were heard at a Flat Bush property.

Phil Goff has raised the issue with the Police Minister.

He says he hopes proposed legislation around gun ownership will help the problem.

Goff says it's easy for gangs to get firearms as one person with a license can purchase as many as they like, without a record.
