Wellington's Regional Council has come out against an ACT MP's proposed RMA bill

Mark Cameron's submitted a Bill to prevent regional councils from considering climate change, when making decisions around consents.

It's been put into Parliament's biscuit tin, with Cameron hoping it's pulled soon saying the current law inhibits productivity.

But Daran Ponter, who chairs Greater Wellington Regional Council says it's climate denial.

He says climate change must be considered in issuing consents, and thinks reversing it would be "nuts".
