    Tipa Mahuta has been elected unopposed to Waikato Regional Council, following the death of respected local Maxine Moana-uwhangai -- the only other candidate in the Nga Hau e Wha Maori constituency

    Tipa Mahuta has been elected unopposed to Waikato Regional Council, following the death of respected local Maxine Moana-uwhangai -- the only other candidate in the Nga Hau e Wha Maori constituency


    Both candidates will be listed on voting papers but votes for that constituency seat will no longer be counted.
