An influx of residents in the regions is lifting median house price

REINZ Chief Executive Bindi Norwell says in this month's report, Northland, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu Whanganui and Southland reached record highs.

Norwell says there's a lack of properties to buy, putting pressure on the housing market in regional areas.

She says Manawatu Whanganui went up 25.6 percent, and Gisborne, Taranaki, Otago and Nelson all had double digit growth.
