Auckland property sales have defied forecasts

Barfoot and Thompson says sales in June returned to normal trading levels, with prices remaining stable.

Managing director Peter Thompson says it was a remarkably solid month's trading with no signs of market fragility.

Sales were 4.3 percent higher than the same time last year.

The average price was 953 thousand dollars - more than five thousand dollars up on last month, and 1.4 percent higher than last June.
