Record high prices for fruit and vegetables are a reminder to look for what's in season...to get the best value

Record high prices for fruit and vegetables are a reminder to look for what's in season...to get the best value

Potatoes, courgettes and tomatoes have scaled to all-time price highs - driving the fruit and veggie category up by almost nine percent.

Nikki Hart says we should buy fresh fruit and vegetables in season when they're cheaper.

Another trick is to move away from the fresh product aisles.

Hart says the frozen section in supermarkets is better for fruit and vegetables because they're snap frozen at their best.
