Exporters are pinning their hopes on a free trade deal with the UK to be done and dusted by August

Exporters are pinning their hopes on a free trade deal with the UK to be done and dusted by August

Both trade ministers have wrapped up talks and say they're on track.

New Zealand is focused on getting rid of tariffs on goods, a move expected to boost business for our meat and wine exporters.

In return the UK wants better access for UK services and investment into New Zealand.

While some crinkles still need to be ironed out, Trade Minister Damien O'Connor says achieving an ambitious deal remains his priority.
