The SkyBus service to Auckland Airport could face the axe

The SkyBus service to Auckland Airport could face the axe

Up to 23 jobs could be lost but Go Bus ... which runs the service ... says it hopes to redeploy the staff to other parts of its operation.

SkyBus charges 15 dollars for one-way trips between Auckland's CBD and the airport.

It relies heavily on international visitors, but border restrictions and five lockdowns in Auckland have taken their toll.

Patronage has plunged by 80 per cent since pandemic hit ... and Go Bus chief executive Calum Haslop says covid has made the service impossible to maintain.
