Challenges domestically and abroad are creating a volatile investment environment for businesses

Challenges domestically and abroad are creating a volatile investment environment for businesses

BusinessNZ's latest Economic Conditions Index sits at one for the June 2022 quarter, down 13 on a year ago.

It's a weak return on investment which shows economic conditions are challenging.

Business NZ Chief Executive Kirk Hope says we haven't see this sort of volatility for business decision making and investment for some time.

He says we also need to keep an eye on the quality of Government spending as households tighten their purses in reaction to increased interests rates and costs.
