A modest increase no one saw coming

A modest increase no one saw coming

The median price for Auckland houses sold by Barfoot and Thompson went up two percent in June, from May.

It's despite the average price declining 2.6 percent in the same period.

Managing Director Peter Thompson says it could be a statistical blip because of the monthly approach - and a few higher-value sales having an effect.

He says although there's been a slight downwards movement in price, it's not what everyone has been talking about or expecting.
