Companies affected by the global IT outage, are unlikely to receive compensation

Companies affected by the global IT outage, are unlikely to receive compensation

Banks, airports, supermarkets, media companies and retailers were left scrambling following Friday's outage, which was caused by major cyber security firm CrowdStrike deploying a software update.

But Australian Chamber of Commerce, chief executive Andrew McKellar, says businesses are unlikely to receive money for the loss in productivity.

He says it's going to be very difficult to secure direct compensation, but obviously, that's something that should be looked at.
