Inflation at the checkout should be easing

Inflation at the checkout should be easing

Latest figures from Infometrics and Foodstuffs shows supermarket supplier costs increased two-percent in the year to October.

That's the lowest annual increase in more than three years.

Infometrics Principal Economist Brad Olsen says we're seeing specific cost increases to items like spreads, noodles and cooking oils, rather than across the board.

He says that seems to be driven by less product coming into the country, which is pushing up prices for those items.
