The clearest sign yet that 2024's 'mini' property downturn has come to an end

The clearest sign yet that 2024's 'mini' property downturn has come to an end

Corelogic's Home Value Index saw property values rise by 0.3 percent in February -- the strongest rise in more than a year.

That follows a cumulative negative 4.1 percent decline from March to September last year.

Chief Property Economist, Kelvin Davidson says the small rise is down to lower interest rates.

He says the impact is huge -- giving people extra cash to spend on a home -- but notes there is still some restraints at play.
