The horticulture sector's celebrating a surge in exports

The horticulture sector's celebrating a surge in exports

New forecasts project food and fibre export earnings of 59.9 billion-dollars for the year ending this month.

Horticulture export revenue's up 19 percent, to 8.5-billion.

HortNZ CEO Kate Scott says it's great to see sectors boom, since recovering from 2023's extreme weather events.

She says the Kiwifruit sector had about 3.9 billion dollars in export revenue and apples rose to 1.1 billion dollars in export value.
