    The services sector is blaming the weak economic environment for a downturn in activity


    The latest Performance of Services Index has New Zealand contracting again in November, with a reading of 46 point 9.

    To show growth, it needs to be at 50 or above.

    ABC Business Sales CEO Chris Small says in comparison, the retail sector saw a boost around Black Friday.

    He says this shows things are turning around and services are just the lagging factor.
