Good news for our manufacturing sector

The latest BNZ Business NZ Performance of Manufacturing Index shows activity's risen to its highest point in four years.

Other indicators out this week show the sector's more optimistic than others, and is starting to hire again.

It's a positive sign, after a string of closures over the past two years.

Manufacturing Minister, Chris Penk, says on these numbers, manufacturing's now growing faster here than in major economies like the US, China, Japan, the UK and Australia.
