    A Christchurch businessman has pleaded guilty to nearly 40 child sex charges

    A Christchurch businessman has pleaded guilty to nearly 40 child sex charges


    The man, in his 50s, has appeared in the Christchurch District Court today via audiovisual link.

    He admitted five charges of raping a child and 33 charges including multiple counts of unlawful sexual connection.

    All charges related to a girl under 12 at the time of the offending.

    His name and other details are suppressed until sentencing next February.
