A win-win for farmers and environmentalists

A win-win for farmers and environmentalists

A Primary Sector Climate Action Partnership says it's found a fair way to ensure farmers are charged for their emissions.

It's recommending a system where farmers will calculate and pay for their own emissions by 2025.

Group chair Michael Ahie says although this plan will hit farmers' back pockets, it's a fair way forward.

He says he's confident this is the best option to help farmers and growers transition to lower-emissions food production while maintaining viable businesses.
