The cooling of housing prices isn't translating into more buyers

Real Estate Institute data shows median prices rose 2.4 percent in the year to May, but dropped four percent from April.

House sales are down 28.4 percent compared to a year ago.

ASB Economist Mike Jones says there's no firm signs buyers are being lured back into the market.

He says buyers are standing aside to see how far house prices fall.
