QV figures show construction costs are increasing at the slowest pace in a decade -- and below the inflation rate

The CostBuilder Index measures the cost of building a standard standalone home in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin - of one-or-two storeys, on about 150 square metres, .

It's found the cost rose just 1.5 percent in the year to November.

That's down from 5.6, 11.3 and 18.9-percent increases in the three preceding years.
