The Commerce Commission's released new guidelines - to try to cut confusion in telco pricing

The product disclosure rules require providers to state a monthly average price when different than advertised - and to offer standardised offer summaries.

The Comcom also says early termination fees must o be disclosed up-front - and they must reduce over time.

Telecommunications Commissioner Tristan Gilbertson says complex offers on the market make it hard for consumers to understand what they'll pay.

She says Kiwis should be able to compare telcos offers easily, on a like-for-like basis.
