Stats NZ has released new inflation data - ahead of the release of the overall CPI inflation rate next Friday.
Food got four-percent more expensive in 2025 - thanks to higher prices for meat and non-perishable items.
Electricity got 12-percent more expensive, and gas got 17.5 pricier.
But the price of petrol - a key factor in calculating the overall CPI inflation rate - only rose 1.4 percent last year.
