The 40-year-old will train in the single sculls this summer in a bid to regain the berth which has twice brought him Games glory.
He's convinced he can challenge the incumbents in that boat class, from what he observed at the world championships this season.
Drysdale says his Rio experience counts for plenty.
Drysdale raced the eight this season and is keeping his options open to qualify that boat at the regatta of death in Lucerne next May.
