Ryan Fox has surging belief he's ready to contend for a major golf championship

The New Zealand number one has finished in the top three in four of his last six tournaments, this morning outright second at the Irish Open.

The result's catapulted Fox 11 places to 46th in the world rankings, and has reinforced his faith he can be in the mix at next week's 150th Open Championship at St Andrews.

Ryan Fox next plays in the Scottish Open starting on Thursday night.
