The Warriors have been dealt a blow to start the NRL season, with Marata Niukore sidelined after fracturing his foot in their preseason game against the Dolphins

The Warriors have been dealt a blow to start the NRL season, with Marata Niukore sidelined after fracturing his foot in their preseason game against the Dolphins

It means former Bronco Kurt Capewell will start in the second row alongside Jackson Ford in Friday's season-opener against the Sharks at Mt Smart.

Assistant coach Stacey Jones says they're not sure how long Niukore will be out.

Luke Metcalf's beaten Te Maire Martin to the five-eighth jumper and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck starts at centre at the expense of Adam Pompey.
