Former Wallaby Israel Folau's hopes of playing for an Anzac side against the Lions in July have been scuppered

Former Wallaby Israel Folau's hopes of playing for an Anzac side against the Lions in July have been scuppered

Rugby Australia boss Phil Waugh says players like Folau - who have switched international allegiance - are ineligible.

Folau played for Tonga in 2022.

The same rule will deny former All Blacks Charles Piutau and Malakai Fekitoa the opportunity.

Waugh's confident the side's composition side could consist of Japanese-based players who have represented the All Blacks or Wallabies.
