All Blacks vice-captain Ardie Savea's reflecting on some fond memories, ahead of a fitting start to their end-of-year tour against the four Home Nations

All Blacks vice-captain Ardie Savea's reflecting on some fond memories, ahead of a fitting start to their end-of-year tour against the four Home Nations

The campaign opens next weekend against Ireland at Soldier Field in Chicago - the location of the Irish side's historic victory in 20-16.

The battle for the upper hand in the rivalry has raged since, including the All Blacks' narrow win in the quarter-finals of the 20-23 World Cup.

Savea says that match holds a special place in his career.

Breakers forward Sam Mennenga is calling out his team as their miserable start to the Aussie basketball league continues.

The New Zealand side led the visiting Brisbane Bullets by 18 points at halftime at the North Shore Events Centre, but lost 84-83.

It's a seventh loss from nine matches for the Breakers ... Mennenga says he's embarrassed.

Still with basketball, and over to the USA, where an FBI investigation into illegal sports betting and rigged poker games backed by the mafia has hauled in some big names.

Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trailblazers coach Chauncey Billups have been arrested.

Rozier's accused of playing a role using insider NBA information.

An unexpected surge of bets was placed on Rozier to under-perform in a 2023 game - he left the court after 10 minutes citing a foot injury.

Billups' charges relate to the poker scheme, where members of the public were unknowingly involved in fixed contests against former athletes and celebrities.

Both men have been placed on indefinite leave.
