The emotions are flowing for captain Andy Robertson after Scotland ended a 27-year wait for the team's return to the men's Football World Cup

The emotions are flowing for captain Andy Robertson after Scotland ended a 27-year wait for the team's return to the men's Football World Cup

The Scots have dramatically booked their berth at next year's tournament - scoring twice in stoppage time to beat Denmark 4-2 and send the home crowd delirious.

Robertson's told the BBC he not only knew this was probably his last chance to play at a World Cup - but wanted to make good on a goal he set alongside former Liverpool team-mate Diogo Jota, who died in a car crash in July.

Joining Scotland in advancing this morning are Belgium, Spain, Switzerland and Austria.

Wales have claimed a spot in Europe's qualification playoffs.

Just nine of the 48 places at the World Cup now remain up for grabs.
