Four England wickets have fallen in the first session of the opening Ashes cricket test against Australia in Perth

Four England wickets have fallen in the first session of the opening Ashes cricket test against Australia in Perth

Ollie Pope's the latest tourist to fall, adjudged LBW for 46 to Cameron Green.

The English had recovered - somewhat - from a shocking start with the bat, after winning the toss.

They were none for one in the very first over ... then 39 for three.

At lunch, the tourists are 105 for four.

Mitchell Starc has three wickets for the Aussies, who lost the toss.

In domestic cricket's Plunket Shield, Canterbury have beaten Northern Districts in Rangiora, by five wickets.

Otago earlier beat Wellington by seven wickets at the Basin Reserve.
