No concerns from Football Ferns coach Michael Mayne over the gap in quality with the Australian Matildas ahead of tonight's first friendly in Gosford

No concerns from Football Ferns coach Michael Mayne over the gap in quality with the Australian Matildas ahead of tonight's first friendly in Gosford

New Zealand are 33rd in the world rankings - 18 spots behind Australia, with the Matildas producing a run of 16 home sell-outs following the 2023 World Cup.

The hosts also boast a strong contingent of European-based players, including the Chelsea pair of Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter.

Mayne wants to help the Football Ferns become household names as well.

    Kickoff is at 9:30pm.
