Michael Bracewell has seized a window to enhance his future test cricket prospects

Michael Bracewell has seized a window to enhance his future test cricket prospects

He's made 47 from number eight as part of New Zealand's 231 for nine on a rain-punctuated first day of the three-match series against the West Indies in Christchurch.

Bracewell benefited with Glenn Phillips and late withdrawal Mitchell Santner nursing injuries.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Tom Blundell is set to undergo a scan on a tight hamstring and may not take the gloves during the match.

Play resumes at 10.35, although some spots of rain are in the forecast from late morning.
