Auckland FC have slumped to their second loss of the men's A-League season - and once again it's at the hands of the lowly Newcastle Jets

, The 10-man Jets have claimed a 3-1 win at Mount Smart Stadium.

The visitors - who went into the game a lowly ninth - twice went ahead in the first half, with three goals in a frenetic opening 16 minutes to the contest.

That only ratcheted up further when Max Cooper was shown a second yellow card in the 21st minute and sent off.

But the Jets were able to protect their advantage a man down despite Auckland peppering the Jets' goal and then locked away the three points late.
