New Zealand middle distance runner Geordie Beamish's record-breaking 5-kilometre run in Boston has set him up for a number of top-tier meets in 2022

Beamish ran a time of 13 minutes 12.53 seconds - the fastest ever by a Kiwi indoors.

It pips the World Championship standard and meets the A standard for Commonwealth Games qualification.

Beamish says they'll look to begin peaking early next year.
