Rafael Nadal's tennis future remains unclear, after the Spanish great reached the quarter-finals of the Swedish Open

Rafael Nadal's tennis future remains unclear, after the Spanish great reached the quarter-finals of the Swedish Open

In what was an encouraging display for the 38-year-old and his fans ahead of the Paris Olympics, Nadal had to recover from 4-1 down in the second set to beat New Zealand-raised British No 2 Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4 at Bastad.

Nadal has been plagued by injury since last year's Australian Open and opted to sit out Wimbledon in order to focus on the Games in France.

He says he has yet to make up his mind whether he'll compete at the year's final major, the US Open.

Nadal will play singles and doubles with Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros in Paris, where he became a record 14-times French Open winner.
