Canberra prop Josh Papalii has been dragged out of State of Origin league retirement to give Queensland's forward pack some oomph in the decider next Wednesday at Sydney

The 33-year-old called time on his Maroons representative career ahead of the 2023 series, but is expected to start at prop when coach Billy Slater unveils his 17 today.

Papalii will replace Moeaki Fotuaika.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow comes in for the injured Kalyn Ponga at fullback with Reece Walsh recalled as 18th man.
