    Bowls great Val Smith is struggling to come to terms with her second major award in three months


    Smith - the most capped Black Jack - has been honoured as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit - after being inducted into the sport's hall of fame earlier in the year.

    The two-time world champion - who retired in February - says she never desired recognition.
