It's been a hot start from the Aussies to open round three of Super Rugby

Moana Pasifika have been soundly beaten by the Force 35-19 in Pukekohe, while the Highlanders have gone down 31-14 to the Reds in Brisbane.

The Landers trailed 19-7 at half-time, before failing to capitalise on opportunities and allowing the Reds to skip away with two second half tries in six minutes.

Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph says they lacked spark in the Queensland heat.
