New heating requirements are puzzling tenants, landlords and property managers

The Healthy Homes Standards coming into effect next year means rental properties will need to have a fixed heating source in the main living area.

Real estate institute Chief Executive, Bindi Norwell says property owners have been caught out not understanding what's required in the meantime - and that is providing the tenant with a heater or fireplace.
