A political expert says it isn't surprising to see Labour ahead in the race for the Auckland Central electorate, vacated by National's Nikki Kaye

A political expert says it isn't surprising to see Labour ahead in the race for the Auckland Central electorate, vacated by National's Nikki Kaye

Newshub's latest poll shows Labour's Helen White in at 42.3 percent, with National's Emma Mellow at 26.6 percent, and the Greens' Chloe Swarbrick at 24.2 percent.

Political commentator Shane Te Pou says this poll might sway some voters.

He says it's possible people who had planned on voting Green will now move to Labour.
